What is Sound Healing?

"Everything in Life is Vibration" - Albert Einstein

Sound has been utilized in various cultures for thousands of years as a tool for healing.  It not only helps with inducing relaxation, but also has a way of moving through areas of blockage to move stagnant energy, release energy patterns and habits that are no longer serving you, and bring your body, mind and spirit back into alignment.

Stress and negativity creates blockages that cause low energy disturbances and can lead to disease.  Sound can shift our energy from low to high, removing the lower frequencies of emotions such as fear, anger, and resentment.  One of the best modalities to bring the body back to its own healthy harmonic resonance is sound and vibration from Tibetan singing bowls.  Struck or sung in specific tone sequences, the vibratory frequencies emanated from these bowls creates a sympathetic resonance in your cells.  These vibrations spread as concentric waves into larger circles through blood, tissues, organs and even bones as the receiver is brought into an alpha or theta state.  The experience is one of absolute serenity as deep relaxation and soothing resonant sound opens the flow of energy and restores balance and well-being.

Sound healing is done with the recipient fully clothed and lying on a massage table or mat on the floor. Tibetan singing bowls are placed on and around the body and struck or sung in specific rhythmic sequences to create vibrational sound harmonics. Warm water therapy, chanting and other instruments, such as tingshas, native drums, rattles and wood flutes may be incorporated into sessions.
